Apple Evangelism

July 25, 2005 – 11:50 am

It may sound silly to some that a person would gleefully proselytize about a computer system. I would have thought so myself at one point. I am glad to say though that I have been responsible for at least two of my friends seeing the light about owning a Mac. I own an iBook and a couple of my friends have each recently purchased a Mac Mini. Also some of my other friends have picked both iBooks or Powerbooks. The conversion is rampant. I don’t imagine that is will be very long before Apple revivals start taking place and people start coming to the truth. The Apple is the best computer a person will ever have the pleasure of using.

I think what I like the best is that my iBook has never had a virus and I have never had to deal with spyware, adware, or malware. I love that I can run every application that I want (for what I need). Every application is rendered beautifully. There is nothing bland about the operating system (OS X 10.4.2 – Tiger) at all. Everything about it is very well thought out and extremely simple to use.

If you have never tried an Apple then do yourself a favor and try one today.

…I should go work for those guys…

Ender’s Game

July 25, 2005 – 1:22 am

I had heard from some friends that the book Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card was good. I just finished the audiobook today and I am very impressed. It took me a while to get used to the fact that the main character and his friends are just children, but it did not take long to become totally immersed in this book and it’s vivid descriptions of the ranging situations and emotions.

If you have not read it yet then run out and get it. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

The iBook

July 24, 2005 – 5:19 pm

I have wanted to own an Apple/Mac for a long time. The problem with that was the cost. I simply could not afford to buy a mac. The situation changed when I was offered a deal that I could not pass up (by my wife!). For nearly wholesale prices I purchased an iBook G4.

I can say with certainty that I have never been happier with a computer since I started using them. This machine has been able to suit my computing needs so that I can work on my web development projects, use my favorite Linux tools, and work on my music with ease. On top of all that, OSX is so intuitive that I experienced almost no delays in productivity while learning how to use it.

My desktop workstation running Microsoft’s OS has gone largely unused since I got my Mac. The other members of my household still use Windows but as soon as I can I will be helping them make the switch to Apple.

I recommend to anyone who is interested in having an easy to use, virtually virus-free, and attractive looking computer system to buy it from Apple . I do not regret for a moment the day that I did.

I will never buy another Windows PC again.

My First Blog

July 24, 2005 – 5:04 pm

Well, this is my first blog. I have tried to start web sites in the past where I could write about the various things that hold my interest at any given moment, but they never came to be. By the time that I finished writing the code for those sites I was too bored or tired to work on the content. I think that blogging is the answer. We will see I guess.

Welcome to my web site. Feel free to register and give your comments to the nonsense that I come up with.
