About Me
My Name is Les Atkins. I am a software developer from the Atlanta, Georgia area. I have a beautiful and smart wife from Alaska! She has been the greatest help to me in getting my life in order than anyone else in the world. There is not a more fabulous person and I love her very much. I have two awesome little boys. They have tons of energy and are smarter than me most of the time (at least it seems that way).
I have been in the IT business since 1996. I have been in various job positions from Help Desk to Network Administrator to Developer and Software Analyst. I had a few really good career jumps in the late 90s during the tech boom and have been fortunate to work for some really great people in good companies.
Most of my family lives in the southeastern U.S. Now my extended family (on my wife’s side) has given me even more reasons to visit Alaska, Hawaii, and Montana since they all live there. The cultural differences between “the south” and the places listed above are pretty large in some areas, but they are lots of fun to learn.
I enjoy working with computers (go figure), visiting places I have never been before, and I especially love trying foods that I have never tried before. Of course the food thing is starting to show as my “spare tire” moves from doughnut to full-size, but I never seem to find really interesting and new “diet” food. Nobody ever said to me “Les, you have GOT to try this new rice cake!” Also my wife’s superb cooking doesn’t help the “spare tire” size too much either. 
I like to read. My wife and I read to each other (I know. We are just sickening right?). We also like to watch movies (DVDs mostly).
